DALE R. RUBANICK
Specialist Dale R. Rubanick
Specialist Dale R. Rubanick of Alachua, Florida a Light Wheel Mechanic Recovery Specialist of the 1/6 Field Artillery of the First Infantry Division. Specialist Rubanick deployed to Iraq from Bamberg, Germany February 2004.

During Operation Iraqi Freedom II Rubanick's unit was stationed in Baqubah, 35 miles NE of Baghdad at FOB GABE in the Sunni Triangle. Baqubah is also the capital of Diyala Province.

Specialist Rubanick participated in a number of operations which included Centaur Strike II and III.

When asked if there was anything he would like to share about his experience in Iraq, Dale would only say IED's (improvised explosive device). On eight different occasions an IED was detonated near his vehicle.

Specialist Rubanick returned to Bamberg, Germany on 24 Feburary 2005. Today Dale is attending Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida in hopes of becoming a fireman.
